The library has recently remodeled spaces into an amenity space filled with culture and natural scenery. Students will be able to see that the library has changed a lot during their summer vacation!
• SELF-SERVICE STATION
Now, the self-service stations’ walls on 3rd to 5th floor are decorated with pictures of students and the library as well as guides to use the printer. These areas are sleeker and more organize.
• 7-10th FLOOR MOBILE PHONE & QUIET DISCUSSION AREA
The quiet discussion zones located on the corners of 7th-10th floors are now available for use. Thanks to suggestion from XJTLU students, students can go there to rest, use mobile phones and have light discussion without disturbance. The entrance on each floor is decorated with authentic Chinese garden style gate and of course, we also added benches for the students to use. These new areas create a lively and harmonious library atmosphere, which improve the users’ experience.
The XJTLU Library has recently taken part in the University’s Instruction Program, during which the library hosted more than 3000 students in three separate sessions.In this Library Induction Session we offered a 10minites Library induction covering: Top Tips in the Library, Library Quick Start Guide, Where and How to get help in the Library. We encourage students to make full use of Library resources and services to assist you with your academic studies and to help you to maximize your potential. Look forward to meeting students and helping them to have the best possible student experience with us.
The XJTLU Library held a series of 30-minute tours to assist students using resources during their beginning in library. More than 180 students participated in six tours. The tours include explore library facilities, resources and services. It will help students use the library more effectively.
The library tours cover the following topics ,library layout such as learning commons, facilities such as self-borrowing and returning machines, computers, catalogue searching machines, and library catalogue system such as how to online search. These library tours aim to help students have a better understanding of the library to meet the requirements of learning and living. To provide services to reflect the library customer-centric service concept, to create a harmonious campus atmosphere
The Library holds “Show and tell: My first XJTLU Library book” and “Library Quiz” since the beginning of this semester and it is still going on. Students can share their first books by posting them on WeChat moments with photos and a short summary about it .They also can stop by information desk on the 1st floor to test their knowledge about the library, space, circulation regulation etc. Participation in these activities students can win library postcards or goodies.
Earlier this semester, XJTLU Library has recruited volunteers among students to enhance its services. The volunteers help to guide students with the available facilities that help to enhance learning atmosphere and the level of library services and management as well as keep the library in check, in addition to strengthen the exchange, communication and relationship between the library and readers. In return, the volunteers will gain the most valuable experience and connection.
The Library holds the Plant Adoption Ⅲ Program with Green E club at the beginning of this semester. Students can expect to adopt their favorite plant after leaving a note “I want to adopt a plant on the library WeChat tweets. All the plants will be grown at an appointed fenced area on the 6th floor. Library aims to improve students’ awareness on environment protection and encourage them to take good care of these lovely plants. Furthermore, the idea of this activity coincides with the Green Library concept. With the grow of these plants, sooner or later this green area will be like an oxygen bar inside the library, purifying the air, providing a green view for eye relaxing and an excellent corner to inspire new thoughts.
