The series of “Kai Tan Le” cultural activities invite renowned artists, authors and scholars to introduce Suzhou featured culture, for XJTLU students and faculties to know more about Suzhou culture and facilitate the cultural merge and interaction. The series of “Kai Tan Le” cultural activities are hold two to three times every semester.
We held the eleventh Culture Talk Lecture on 17 May. Professor Jinde ZHONG was invited to share about the history and development of “Rosewood Carving”. Also he provided on-the-spot rosewood carving teaching for students and staff randomly. The next Culture Talk Lecture will be held in September. Please expecting! XJTLU Museum has been collecting handwritten notes from all teachers and students, which may be the "most precious", "most memorable", "most special", and “most meaningful" during your study, work and life in XJTLU.
Currently, the online note solicitation has been finished and we totally have collected around 54 notes from our teachers and students. Among them, 45 handwritten notes have been successfully selected for the museum exhibition during the period from 15th June to 1st September. And these notes will be voted by ballot during the exhibition period. We cannot wait to see the true face of these wonderful notes!!
X Bar has been completed!
The construction of X Bar in the south campus has been completed in June. It will be not only a show space, but also a “people-reading” place. It is a community for students and teachers to interact and communicate; learn and share knowledge and experience with each other. A series of activities of “International Museum Day” for students from Han Lin Primary School
For International Museum Day, the Museum oraganised a series of activities for students from Han Lin Primary School. With interpretation from museum narrators, students not only realised the specialisation and internationalisation of XJTLU, but also deepened their understanding of the history of the culture relics. In addition, museum staff held a handwork activity of wrapping rice dumplings which taught students how to wrap the paper based rice dumplings and to fill them with candies. Students were also asked to write down the wishes for their relatives and friends.
