Textbook Division started textbook request collection of 2017-2018 Academic Year S1 in April 17th. Till the end of May, Textbook Division has received textbook requests from 16 departments and teaching centers, covering over 280 modules. It is estimated that textbook collection and ordering work will be done in early June.
With the development of XJTLU and expansion of students’ number, the learning & teaching demand of textbooks is changed with growing each day. Therefore, Textbook Division conducted a revision plan on current textbook service policy. The revision work contained “a new proposal for textbook service” and “an attached textbook service policy”, which focus on revision of textbook purchase, collection, fee settlement. Currently, the revision document has been submitted to ULAC and ULTC, and it is estimated that the new policy will be approved and taken effect in the next semester.
Till May 26th, Textbook Division completed Textbook Fee Settlement of 2016-2017 Academic Year for XJTLU students (apart from IMBA and part of PG students)
Textbook Division finished 1st round of Textbook Service Policy revision work in June 1st. The revision work contained “a new proposal for textbook service” and “an attached textbook service policy”, which focus on revision of textbook purchase, collection, fee settlement. Currently, this drafted policy has been submitted to department for discussion and it is estimated that the feedback will be sent back to library no later than 30th.
With the development of university, students presented diverse learning demands on textbooks. In order to fulfill students’ need, textbook not only revise the current service policy and started a program of recycling secondhand textbooks. The program is called “Pass the Book”, which is a sharing online platform with UoL. Currently, Textbook Division collaborated with UoL on the website construction and accessibilities and it is estimated the program will be finalized and launched in next semester.
