iSuzhou Culture Exchange of School”was held in Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University. The extensive and profound chinese culture attracted many foreign students and teachers from XJTLU and nearby schools. Ms.Chen Xiaojuan, M.D,PH.D of First Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University and Mr.Wang Yuan, Suzhou Gold medal tour guide, they brought the lectures of "Amazing Chinese culture of TCM" and "Suzhou Dialect.


Shanghai Natural History Museum: Feel the Pulse of Nature

Shanghai Natural History Museum is one of the largest museums of natural sciences in China, which is located in Shanghai Jing’an Sculpture Park. In the museum, visitors can feel the littleness and greatness of life, trace back the natural beauty and ups and downs in nature’s history, witness the rise and fall of humanity, feel the harmonious coexistence of technology and nature, embrace nature, and touch the waves of life.

As a sino-foreign university, XJTLU invites Ms Gu Jieyan, Deputy Director of Management Committee of Shanghai Natural History Museum (Branch of The Shanghai Science and Technology Museum), over for the “KAI TAN LE” series events. This event is intended for teachers and students from all over the world at XJTLU to hear and feel the story behind the Shanghai Natural History Museum. Such creative and thoughtful events will also deepen the bonds between the university and the museum.


Lecture on Collections of the Pan Family

The Collections of the Pan Family from Suzhou in the Qing Dynasty has been exhibiting at Suzhou Museum since December 15th, 2018. At the exhibition, precious collections by the Pan family of Suzhou in the Qing Dynasty are displayed: a total of 88 exhibits from five generations of the family including bronze, pottery, calligraphy, painting, ancient books, and inscriptions. What are the amazing stories behind these collections of gems, artefacts, paintings and calligraphy works? Why did the Pan family enjoy a higher social status? How did a migrating business clan become a famous family in Suzhou, a land of culture and literature? What did collection mean for the Pan family? XJTLU Museum invited Ms. Wen Ting, volunteer at Suzhou Museum, to interpret the story behind the exhibition for XJTLU teachers and students.



2019 TEDxXJTLU Annual Conference

The 2019 TEDxXJTLU Annual Conference was held successfully in XJTLU on 18 May. TEDxXJTLU was approved by the TED official headquarters on March 7, 2019, initiated by XJTLU museum staff, independent non-profit volunteer organization operated by teachers and students, a very energetic incubator for ideas, creativity and innovation. Eight speakers from different fields were invited to share their creative ideas about reshape.


Opening ceremony for "Future of Tradition" Creative Work Exhibition

Opening ceremony for "Future of Tradition" Creative Work Exhibition was held on 17 May at XJTLU Museum. This exhibition will be last three months during the period from 18 May to 18 August. Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University Affiliated School and Yungu School are invited for co-curating to collect creative art works from students of the three schools centered on the theme of “Future of Tradition”, which aims to demonstrate the future world of the "children" and "young adults", inspiring more teachers, students and visitors to practice and explore their creativity for the future.
