XJTLU Library conducted a field survey of Taicang campus
In order to better know the ongoing construction process of Taicang campus, XJTLU Library conducted a field survey of Taicang campus on July 20th, 2022. It indicated that the scale of Taicang Library has been preliminarily completed, and the furniture has not yet entered the site. The whole process is proceeding in an orderly manner.
Through the on-site survey, the Library staff proposed modified requirements for some details, thus Taicang responsible party can make subsequent adjustments to optimize the user experience. In the near future, the Library at Taicang campus will still play the role as Research Support and Learning Centre in XJTLU, and make tight connection with SIP campus.
Official Launch of XJTLU Library (Taicang)
XJTLU Library (Taicang) is open for service from 12th September, 2022. The library at Taicang Campus is located in the Block D of the university, with around 6,500 square meters. It has 3 floors for users’ activities and 1 floor for compact shelves. It provides around 400 seats and 18 group study rooms to meet the varied student needs of learning space.
As a new campus library, XJTLU Library (Taicang) welcomes each patron to visit, discuss and study here. The library will provide the same services and facilities as the SIP campus, so that patrons can enjoy the user experience which is similar to the main campus. Meanwhile, the library at Taicang campus will still play the role as Research Support and Learning Centre in XJTLU, and make tight connection with SIP campus.
XJTLU Library (Taicang) Successfully Held The Closing Music Solicitation Activity
XJTLU Library (Taicang) held a closing music solicitation activity from 14th November to 24th November 2022. Our students actively participate in this activity. We received 53 cards in total. There are many recommended songs.
The library will adopt some of these songs as our closing music. Afterwards, we will randomly select five recommenders and each of them will get a small speaker as a reward. Through this activity, we hope the closing music will make our students enjoy the atmosphere, so that they can feel happy and relaxed after a whole day’s study. The library always welcomes each patron to come, read and study here.
XJTLU Library (Taicang) Successfully Held the Comment Board Activity
XJTLU Library (Taicang) held a comment board activity from 14th September to 25th September,2022. We received 93 comments in total. Based on these comments, Taicang campus library took actions accordingly to meet the needs of our patrons.
We appreciate all the comments, which have made great efforts to help us become a better library. At the initial stage, the new library might not be mature enough. However, with the improvement of the facilities and system, we do believe that XJTLU Library (Taicang) will be brilliant in the future.
