Library as a Bridge: Tailored Communication Campaign Arrived at IBSS

1

In order to strengthen the communication with faculty and students and help them stay up-to-date on Library resources and services, the librarians from XJTLU Library went to Business School to provide deeper services about library issues through the activity of "Library as a Bridge".

On 3 June, the librarians set up a booth at the entrance of the BS building of Business School, showed the related materials of library services for teachers and students, and provided an opportunity to have a face to face communication with librarians to answer the queries about the library. During the communication, the librarians answered all the questions about textbooks issues, digital resources and books borrowing, so as to ensure that the faculties and students could accurately know more about library, and provide assistance for their teaching and research in the future.

At the same time, the librarians also had an individual communication and discussion with Dr. Eddy Fang (Deputy Dean of IBSS) and Dr. Nimesh Salike (Associate Dean for Learning and Teaching of IBSS) regarding the subscription issues and usage for textbooks and digital resources. During the meeting, the issues were well communicated and a mutually agreed solution was reached.

In the future, the Library will reach out to all schools regularly during the semester, hoping that the librarians will act as a bridge of communication so that more teachers and students will have a deeper understanding of the Library's resources and services. Through future activities, the Library will provide more targeted support according to the individual needs of each school.
