Textbook Division finished 2017-2018 AY S2 textbook distribution work


Since 23 February, Textbook Division offered 2017-18 S2 centralized textbook distribution service. The service lasted 3 days, with over 6000 students collecting textbooks, distributing more than 50000 copies, 230 categories. Considering some students have various learning schedule, and some students change their modules after term begins, students are allowed to pick up textbooks according to own arrangement in Textbook Service Centre.



Textbook request collection process has been changed, and module specifications will be the only source for Library textbook ordering


As the University grows, the issue of ordering textbooks is becoming more complex for the Library. On 27 February 2018, the Dean, L&T have called for a meeting to discuss this matter and reach a decision. The CAA Director sent out an email to all academic staff on 7th March, explaining that it has been decided that the module specifications will be the only source for essential and recommended textbooks. In order for the Library to have sufficient time to purchase books, it was agreed that any changes to reading lists on module specifications must be submitted via the online module modification process by the end of S2, Week 7 for the following academic year, i.e. 9-13 April 2018 for the 2018/19 academic year. Textbook Division dealt many queries about the textbook ordering for next semester from academic departments.



Textbook Division received over 90% of textbooks and prepared to distribution


Till 5th Feb, Textbook Division received over 90% of textbooks and had prepared textbook distribution for XJTLU students. For 2017-2018S2, Textbook Division had finished receiving over 40000 copies of textbooks, covering 18 departments and teaching centers
