Library Access and Privileges

Visiting Scholars & Part-time Lecturers


All visiting scholars and part-time lecturers who wish to have access to the following resources and services must apply for a University Account and an XJTLU Temporary Card with Library visiting and printing access by contacting Management Information Technology and System Office (MITS) via email of and contact number of 0512-8816 1250. 

The visiting and borrowing privileges are limited to XJTLU registered students and full-time staff during the COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control period.

Visiting Use an XJTLU Temporary Card to visit the Library.
Borrowing Fill in Borrowing Access application Form to apply for Library borrowing access.
Printing, Copying, and Scanning Use an XJTLU Temporary Card for accessing the multifunctional printers (on Level 1, 3, 4, 5). Visit the Guide for more details about using printers.
Library Catalogue (OPAC) Search items in Library Catalogue with Internet access. Visit the Guide for more details about using the Catalogue.
Electronic Resources Walk-in access to the Library’s electronic resources. A University account is required for login on computer terminals.
Off-campus Access to Electronic Resources Eligible for staff with long-term appointment (more than 90 days) by filling in Temporary Off-Campus E-Resource Access Application Form to apply for temporary off-campus access to the Library’s electronic resources.
Training Workshops Attend Library workshops on Information Literacy (e.g. smart searching, database utilization, work-smart tools, referencing tools, and scholarly communication).

+ How to access the Library if I forgot to bring my XJTLU Temporary Card?
Visiting scholars or part-time lecturers who forgot to bring their XJTLU Temporary Cards with them may use their university account to open the Wide Access Control Gate to enter and exit the Library. But keep in mind that you can only use this process 8 times for entering and 8 times for exiting each month.

If a user loses his or her XJTLU Temporary Card, please contact MITS to apply for a new one. Please report the loss to Library Circulation Desk on Level 3 or report card loss on the Library OPAC system. While a new card is being prepared for you, the Wide Access Control Gate should be used. You will have unlimited access during this period. After your new card has been issued to you, please swipe your XJTLU Temporary Card to enter the Library. In case of lost XJTLU Temporary Card, if you have applied for a new one, then the old card is invalid.
