Gifts Program and Criteria
The XJTLU Library welcomes and encourages donations of books, periodicals and other materials from faculty, students and the general public which support the University’s instructional needs and research. The Library has benefited greatly from many generous donations, and all the materials offered will be considered with enthusiasm. The Library accepts gifts with the primary purpose of acquiring materials that will be added directly to its collections. Owing to space and resource constraints, it is necessary for the Library to be selective in deciding what may be accepted into Library stock. Criteria for acceptance of donations include:
-
The items should be clean, unmarked and in good physical condition, unless there is an exceptional case for acceptance;
- One or several volumes (not integrate) of a multi-volume collection will not be accepted;
-
The items should fit within the scope of the library’s collections;
-
The Library does not generally collect unpublished materials;
-
The items should be free of licensing, copyright or other restrictions;
-
Titles that duplicate existing library resources may be accepted, if the existing copies are in heavy demand and the number of copies is less than 5;
-
The reviews of the contents of the items are required by the Library before they are accepted into Library stock.
Conditions
Donations are accepted on the understanding that the items become the sole property of the University on receipt. Donations to be added to the library’s collection will be classified, cataloged and processed in the same way as purchased items. Generally, donations will be integrated with the existing stock and will not be housed together as a collection. Items that are not retained, either at the time of receipt or subsequently, may be passed to other libraries/institutions, donated to XJTLU staff/students, used for Bookcrossing Project, sold or otherwise discarded. The proceeds of any sales will be used for the benefit of the University.

Please kindly include the following information for each item: Title, Author, ISBN, Publishing Year, Unit Price (RMB), volume, and Number of Books.
The XJTLU Library is very grateful for those who have made, and continue to make, donations to the library. Donors will receive acknowledgement from the Library in the following forms:

-
If selected, the donor will be acknowledged on the
