Library Assessment

Includes information and documents concerning all XJTLU Library Assessment

Welcome to Library Assessment !

Library assessment is the practice of evaluating library services, resources, spaces, and other areas to determine the impact of library services and resources on the university that it supports, and how to improve library performance and better align library services and resources to university needs.

Continuous Improvement in library

  • Collect data to analyze trends and changes in the use of resources and services.
  • Solicit feedback from library users and non-users alike and conduct major surveys of undergraduates, graduate students and faculty.
  • Provide a robust assessment infrastructure that supports evidence-based decision making.

Assessment Projects

XJTLU Library User Survey

To assess library service quality, Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU) Library conducted the Library User Survey every year. Core questions of the survey covered three service dimensions of service quality: Library as Place; Library Collections and Resource Access; and Library Academic Support Services. For each dimension, respondents were asked to indicate their using habit, their desired service level and their perceived service level provided by the Library.

XJTLU Digital Resources Usage Report

Usage statistics are influential in deciding if a resource should be reviewed and flagged for possible cancellation, if more training is necessary or if the number of concurrent users should be increased or decreased. This report is produced with the intention of presenting the landscape of XJTLU Digital Library and its usage in current year and previous years
