XJTLU Library provides the following patent information services to academic and research staff.
This service is mainly to assist researchers to identify the novelty of a specific technology before patent application. Through this service, researchers can fully grasp the situation of relevant technologies, avoid patent infringement, and improve the success rate of patent applications. Based on the information and requirements provided by the requester, a search of relevant patents and patent applications will be performed by the Library’s ALRD team, and search results will be analyzed and summarized in a statistical report.
This service is mainly to assist researchers to achieve the latest information for the development of a specific technology or patent. Through this service, researchers can trace the latest technology development and timely adjust their research planning. Based on the information and requirements provided by the requester, a regular search of relevant patents and patent applications will be performed by the Library’s ALRD team, and notification will be sent to the requester for any new patent applications and the updates of legal status of existing patents.
This service is mainly to assist researchers to grasp the development trends of a specific technology and relevant industry in an all-round way, and to explore relevant core technologies, hotspot technologies, technology gaps, and identify key inventors, organizations and stakeholders. Based on the information and requirements provided by the requester, a search of relevant patents and patent applications will be performed by the Library’s ALRD Team, then an analysis of patent contents will be conducted in conjunction with relevant technical and industrial information. All analyzed results will be concluded in a report.
The Library regularly organizes patent literacy workshops in order to enhance XJTLU members’ patent retrieval and analysis skills. The Library has also created guides introducing the use of patent databases and the patent application processes, as well as the instructions for reading patent documents.
