Introduction
The library at SIP campus opened in August 2013 with an overall floor area of over 22,000 square meters and 2,800 seats. The library at Taicang campus opened in September 2022 with an overall floor area of over 6,500 square meters and 400 seats. The both libraries provide varied functional areas for studying, discussion, computer lab use and studio work. The design of XJTLU library is rich in cultural and academic atmosphere.
Space Guide
LEARNING COMMONS
Learning Commons are intended for private study and research. Sofas and study tables are located in the Learning Commons. Tens of thousands of books are shelved in the Learning Commons to support learning, teaching and research. Dozens of popular magazines and newspapers are also provided for leisurely reading and relaxation.
INFORMATION COMMONS
Information commons provide computers that are installed with various software. Staff members may reserve the Information Commons for teaching activities via XJTLU Room Booking System (https://mrbs.xjtlu.edu.cn). The reservation notice will be found at the entrance notice board. The Information Commons are available for library users, first-come-first-serve when no teaching activities are scheduled.

GROUP STUDY ROOM
Group Study Rooms aim to provide students and staff with space for group discussion upon booking. Each person can only book a room once a day. Booking is limited to a maximum of 3 hours for students and 6 hours for staff. Room booking can be done via Library Room Booking System (https://roombookings.xjtlu.edu.cn) and can be booked up to 3 days in advance.

SELF-PRINTING, COPYING AND SCANNING AREA
Printers, Photocopiers and Scanners are available for both XJTLU students and staff. Instructions on the multifunctional printers are posted on the walls to help users get their printing/photocopying/scanning jobs done efficiently. For any printer problems, please contact the IT Service Desk.
Catalogue Searching Area
The Catalogue Searching Areas are equipped with some computers. Students and staff can use these computers to search library collections, use DISCOVER and print documents.
MOBILE PHONE ZONES
Library Mobile Phone Zones are embedded in the Learning Commons. Comfortable sofas and chairs are located in these areas. The Mobile Phone Zone room features make it easy for students to make and receive calls without disturbing other users in the Learning Commons.
TRAINING ROOM
Library Training Room provides computer, projector and moveable whiteboard for users. Reservation can be made via XJTLU Room Booking system by staff for teaching activities (https://mrbs.xjtlu.edu.cn).
FOOD AND DRINK ALLOWED AREA, DISCUSSION ALLOWED AREA
The Food, Drink and Discussion Allowed Area provides relaxing furniture. This is the only area where food is allowed in the library. It is also a popular area to have group discussions and complete group assignments.
EXHIBITION AREA
There will be book fairs, art shows to be held in the Exhibition Area. Please pay attention to the library notice if you would like to join us in these events.
INTERACTIVE COMMONS
Interactive commons is furnished with flexible tables and seats for cooperative group work.
