Deposit Agreement


Thank you for depositing your scholarly output(s) in Research Repository of Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU). This Deposit Agreement is a contract between you and XJTLU, which constitutes your permission to deposit, archive, preserve and make your submission (“Scholarly Outputs”) available in Research Repository on the terms set out below.

Definition

  1. Scholarly Output includes journal articles and conference proceedings. Each scholarly output being deposited including any abstract, text, image and related data.
  2. Research Repository is a service established and managed by XJTLU to collect, preserve and share XJTLU-related scholarly output. It permits third parties to access electronic materials at no charge and which follows the principles of Open Access.

Depository’s Declaration

I grant/warrant that:

  1. I transfer to Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University the administration, preservation, and non-exclusive distribution rights of my scholarly output for education and non-commercial purpose.
  2. I hold the copyright (either solely or jointly), or have the permission of the copyright holder(s) for the scholarly output that I submit.
  3. The scholarly output(s) are not in any way violate or infringe any copyright, trademark, patent, or other rights whatsoever of any person.
  4. If the scholarly output(s) have been commissioned, sponsored or supported by any organisation, that I have fulfilled all of the obligations required by such contract or agreement.

XJTLU’s Rights and Responsibilities

XJTLU

  1. May distribute copies of the scholarly output(s) (including abstracts) worldwide, in electronic format via any medium for the lifetime of Research Repository for the purpose of free access without charge.
  2. May electronically store, convert or copy the scholarly output(s) to ensure their future preservation and accessibility.
  3. Shall retain the right to remove the scholarly output(s) for professional or administrative reasons, or if they are found to violate the legal rights of any person.
  4. Shall not be under obligation to take legal action on behalf of the depositor or other rights holders in the event of infringement of intellectual property rights or any other in the scholarly output(s) deposited.
  5. Shall not be under obligations to reproduce, transmit, or display the work(s) in the same format or software as that in which it was originally created.
