Welcome to the subject guide for Chemistry!
This guide will help you to start with chemistry studies. You will be able to find the following materials here:
DISCOVER: all subjects
Search for print and electronic resources in Library Catalogue and most of the library databases
Search for print books, e-books and print journals in library collections
NOTE: Registration is required. You may use your account in Scifinder if you have already registered. Otherwise, please register using your XJTLU email address (e.g. @*.xjtlu.edu.cn) by clicking here. Refer to the PDF icon for the detailed registration URL and instruction for use.
SciFinder-n is a new generation of SciFinder. It offers easy ways to search all reactions, substances and references at once. Retrosynthesis planning(new function) is a computer-aided synthetic design tool that helps generating and organizing synthetic routes for a given molecule.
A series of informative webinars were designed to help you get the most out of SciFinder-n: https://www.cas.org/about/events/scifinder-webinars
The CSD is the world’s repository for small-molecule organic and metal-organic crystal structures. Containing over one million structures from x-ray and neutron diffraction analyses, this unique database of accurate 3D structures has become an essential resource to scientists around the world.
Refer to the PDF to find detail information about CSD client download and webpage login guide.
Any queries about CSD please contact: Askalibrarian@xjtlu.edu.cn.
55 titles of journals covers research on: chemistry; chemical engineering; food Science; environmental science; material science; energy & fuel; biochemistry & molecular biology; physical chemistry.
The Royal Society of Chemistry have a specific referencing style that they use across all their journals, as it ensures that all references are given accurately, clearly and with sufficient detail. It’s always worth checking with your department what referencing style they recommend though, and if they have specific guidelines they want you to follow.
Duxiu Academic Search is an important full-text database and also works as a document delivery system. For some resources that are not subscribed by the Library, it is suggested obtaining the full text via Duxiu Academic search. Within the database, you could get articles from ACS, Nature Publishing Group Journals, etc.
Please refer to the quick guide HERE when using Duxiu Academic Search for the first time.
Any queries, please contact the subject librarian.
