The XJTLU Libraries' strategy priority includes a strong staff development, in which individuals keep professional skills effectively to contribute to the development of the Libraries. The Staff Development and Training Advisory Committee in collaboration with library staff will provides an evolving variety of training, learning, and personal development opportunities, to encourage professional development and ensure that librarians in XJTLU are able to obtain the relevant experience and continuing education to further the profession and address the challenges facing libraries. And this will empower Library staff in pursuit of individual goals and organizational objectives.

Library Professional Development Committee Objectives:
1.Create a continuous learning environment for XJTLU Library staffs.
2.Stimulate communication between XJTLU Library staffs.
3.Foster commitment to the organization of staff development.
4.Prepare XJTLU Library staff for future challenges in the workplace.
Under the authority of the Library Management Committee, Library Professional Development Committee will have the following powers and duties.
• Explore, research and identify training and development needs for XJTLU Library staff in response to the needs of the XJTLU Library strategy priority.
• Develop, organize or conduct training and development programs.
• Maintain the training and development material databases.
• Encourages staff participation in training and development programs.
• Provide staff training and development award to encourage Library staff as trainer.
• Hold Library all staff team building programs.
• Connect nationally and internationally with relevant organizations and groups and seek to develop these to the mutual benefit of our staff.
