Library Plant Adoption Activity

The Library holds the plant adoption with Green E club at the beginning of this semester. Students can expect to adopt their favorite plant after collecting 30 likes by posting the activity on their We Chat moments. Library aims to improve students’ awareness of environment protection and encourage them to take good care of these lovely plants. Furthermore, the idea of this activity coincides with the green library concept. With the growing of these plants, sooner or later this green area will be like an oxygen bar inside library, purifying the air, providing a green view for eye relaxing and an excellent corner to inspire new thoughts.

Library Holds the Living Library to Share Experiences

1 1

The living library activity was held by the library to give the students an opportunity to learn about different people’s personal experiences, values and culture. The living library allows students to gain knowledge actively, through discussion rather than reading a book. Ten students and teachers from XJTLU with different life experiences shared their life experiences’ stories to the audience. The activity was held on the 18th April 2017 in G23W in the Central Building. Approximately 150 students attended the event. The activity was divided into three rounds, and each round lasted 30 minutes. This gave students the opportunity to meet different speakers that they found interesting.

A Series of Vivid Cartoons on the Library Wall

In order to provide readers with a safe and harmonious environment, the Library produced a series of vivid and interesting cartoon reminders. The reminders include: students ‘please take good care of your belongings’, ‘do not speak loudly in library’, and ‘do not smoke in the toilet’, etc.

Library safety and security is one of the Library’s main concerns, as the number of students visiting the library increases yearly. We hope by using these vivid cartoons, readers will pay more attention.
