Happenings @ Your Library 2017: Textbook and Publication

A Textbook Questionnaire and Group Interview were Accomplished by Textbook and Publication Division in March


In order to provide better textbook service, textbook division finished a survey on prominent textbook related issues raised by students. This survey consisted of two parts: a questionnaire and a focus group interview. For questionnaire part, textbook division received over 1000 copies, covering all XJTLU departments and grades, focusing on new textbooks, second hand textbooks usages. What’s more, considering for future work priority, textbook division designed and conducted a focus group interview on textbook collection policy, textbook policy to present a vivid panorama of textbooks usage within XJTLU. The survey was finished successfully and will be the supportive materials for textbook work in the near future.



XTJLU Bookshop Started a Design Competition for Textbook Service Center

Textbook division launched the new textbook service center at the beginning of this semester on textbook distribution, textbook stock management and other related textbook service for XJTLU students and academic staff. In order to provide better service, XJTLU Bookshop started a design competition. The competition is open for all XJTLU students and staff, which intrigued large quantities of students, aiming to highlight textbook-related features of service center, compatible with campus culture and construction.



Result of Textbook Center Design Competition is Released


XJTLU bookshop released the competition results in April 24th. Among all submitted plans, a best design award, three finalist awards are released, which are from Industrial Design and Architecture, covering layout design, philosophy, and other considerate details, expressing XJTLU students’ professional qualities.

Investigation of XJTLU Textbook Expense and Charging Fee by Suzhou Price Bureau


Suzhou Price Bureau (SPB) investigated XJTLU textbook expense and fee charged from students on 14th Apr. 2017. For this investigation, SPB scrutinized textbook quantities and cost expended, check students textbook fee randomly. Within this investigation, SPB listened to a detailed introduction of text book purchase procedure and other related workflow by team leader MS. Zhang Yunying, and was impressed by University library working efficiency and accuracy.
